Have only used the chat function but it is very user friendly and works well.

For many of us who study Japanese thru textbooks or reading or watching anime, this is a great app to practise writing and speaking. You chat with Japanese people with native skills who are willing to help you just as you help them with English. Its easy to use, but it would be even better if you can find people based on certain interests - hobbies. Its easier o start conversations that way.

This is a great app to learn new words and grammar in another language. The community is built around assisting others learn

This app is really great to meet penpals or friends to chat with to help improve your language skills, etc. Easy to use and built in chat is great too since the chats can be corrected too.

Like a cross between IRC and Facebook except your language skills increase instead of deteriorating. Time zones are an issue for chat, but most people are understanding.
